Between 11th July and 14th July, 1915, 2nd East Surrey, 85,Brigade, 28th Division, held the front line between St.Eloi and Vierstraat just south of Ypres in Belgium. For most it was an uneventful period in the firing line but not so for Private Aldridge who was killed, probably by shellfire, on 12th July. |
